“The Salin Plus device is very simple to use, you just insert the salt cartridge (which was easy) and plug it in to the power. The salt refill cartridge should last about 4 months. The machine does not have a on and off switch and I felt the machine could of really benefited from one. I also think the inclusion of a night light on the machine would have been handy for my children. The machine was used in my boy’s room shared by my 4 year old and 6yr old (suffers croup and many more colds than my other children). My 4 year old son is on a preventer, after using the machine I did not feel comfortable enough to reduce his medication but I did find an improvement in his night time coughing, with coughing fits being noticeably shorter. My 6yr old son suffered one case of croup while testing the machine and while getting organised to go to the hospital he recovered which was unusual for him. He also has suffered a cold during the trial but it only lasted 2 days and he was well enough to return to school. After only using the machine for a small period of time, it is hard for me to judge if the machine was the cause of my sons lesser cold and croup symptoms or if it was a coincidence. I would need to experience more colds with the machine to make a decision on that but I am confident enough to say I do know my sons night time coughing has defiantly improved. My husband spent a couple of nights in my boy’s room and said he woke up feeling really refreshed and would highly recommend the machine to anyone. He plans on talking me into buying him one. “My Husband spoke to you the other day about some information on the Salin Plus system. Initially he bought this unit through Livingstone Pharmacy just by chance as he overheard the pharmacist talking about it to a customer.I was due to travel to India (Feb 2013) a few days later to visit my sick father who has a collapsed lung, is on permanent oxygen, and could not walk a few meters without becoming breathless nor could not come down the stairs for months as he lives on the first floor.
